Zy Dance Studio was founded by former soloist dancer and renowned instructor Shi Zhongyi. Following a career with ballet, Chinese dance and contemporary dance companies in Shanghai, Singapore and Germany, Zhongyi spent a decade coaching at the national-level Shanghai Dance School before becoming dance master at the Shanghai Opera Dance Company.

Our international multi-lingual teachers from China, France, Australia, Russia and beyond are all professionally trained dancers with many years of teaching expertise and inspiration to share.

Our professionally equipped studios in central Shanghai’s former French Concession host a full dancing schedule across a variety of styles, including classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, Latin dance and much more.

Zy Dance Studio is also a platform for professional dancers and choreographers to work on unique performance projects. Zy Dance + Stage hosts a programme of masterclasses with famous guest teachers and performers from around the world. We also work with event organisers to choreograph and stage one-of-a-kind bespoke performances and installations featuring Shanghai’s finest professional dancers.
